Cody Johnson named his tenth album after the river that runs through his part of Texas, which tells you most of what you need to know about the intent. Released in June 2026 on his own CoJo Music through Warner Nashville and produced once again by Trent Willmon, it is the most expansive record he has made and still recognizably the work of a man who spent years playing dancehalls before Nashville came calling.
"Horseback" opens it in exactly the register you would want, and the guest spots do their job without taking the album over. Brothers Osborne appear on "Fool Proof," a Jeff Hyde, Jason Scott and Jared Conrad song that gives the record its loosest few minutes. Luke Combs turns up on "Shoot The Bull." But the center of gravity across these sixteen tracks sits in the quieter material: "Bible For A Boy (For Jaycee)," the plainly devastating "Hello Lonesome," and the title track itself, which is as close as Johnson has come to writing a place into a song.
Coming off the run that Leather started, this is the sound of an artist who no longer has anything to prove and has decided to make a bigger record anyway. He still sings it straight. There is just more room around him now.
Pressed as a double LP on Warner Bros. Records Nashville.
