Chinese Detective - Are Kisses Out Of Fashion?

Formed in 1995 by Per Aksel Lundgreen (formerly of Apoptygma Berzerk), this short-lived synth-pop project featured Preben Bjønnes (Cronos Titan, Defcon 4) and, initially, vocalist Kristine Ulfeng. After two singles, Desiree Grandahl took over vocal duties for the rest of the recordings. The group released a string of singles in the mid-’90s—including “Situation,” “Where Do The Boys Go?,” and “You Think You're A Man”—that gained attention through dance charts and national television in Norway, defying expectations for pure synth-pop at the time.

Due to high recording costs, production was drawn out across several sessions, with the full album eventually landing in 1999. It found a surprisingly wide audience, especially in Sweden, Germany, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, and even Russia. Live performances followed in Norway and Sweden, though life circumstances led to the group disbanding not long after. Aside from brief reunion gigs in 2012 and 2016, they remained silent. Originally only issued on CD, this long-out-of-print fan favorite finally gets its long-awaited vinyl debut.
