Two years after Brat turned a lime-green square into global shorthand, Charli XCX returns with a record that refuses to repeat the trick. Music, Fashion, Film is her seventh studio album, eleven songs in a little over thirty minutes, built almost entirely with longtime collaborators A. G. Cook and Finn Keane. Recording began in Paris in October 2025, after she had planned to take the year off and found she could not sit still.

The sound is a deliberate turn away from Brat's club maximalism: processed guitar riffs, digitally manipulated vocals, subdued electronic drums. Lead single "Rock Music" runs under two minutes and sets the tone, followed by "SS26," named for the spring/summer fashion season, and "Wink Wink." Charli has pushed back on the idea that this is a rock album, saying she never claimed it was and does not think about genre in binary terms. The record closes with "No One Lasts Forever," its only guest feature and by far its longest track, with director David Cronenberg appearing alongside her.

The cover, shot by Aidan Zamiri, puts John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese in one black-and-white frame, one for each word of the title. It is a neat summary of what the album is chasing: the places where pop music, fashion, and cinema stop being separate things.

Released 24 July 2026 through Atlantic Records. A short, sharp, deliberately strange follow-up to one of the decade's defining pop albums.
