On May 16, 1976, the Rolling Thunder Revue rolled into the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, and Bob Dylan delivered one of the fiercest nights of the tour. Fifty years on, that show gets its own release.
The spring 1976 leg was a different animal from the celebrated fall 1975 run: louder, looser, and more combustible, with Dylan reshaping his songs almost beyond recognition. The first preview from these recordings, a snarling "Going, Going, Gone," comes straight from this concert. Behind him is the full Revue band, with Rob Stoner on bass, Scarlet Rivera on violin, Howie Wyeth on drums, and guitarists Mick Ronson, Steven Soles, David Mansfield, and T Bone Burnett, plus Joan Baez stepping up for duets.
This set is the vinyl companion to the massive 39-CD The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1976 Live Recordings box, capturing a single complete show rather than the whole tour, which makes it the ideal way to hear what these nights actually felt like from start to finish.
The complete Fort Worth concert across three LPs, freshly remixed from the original multitrack tapes, out November 6 via Columbia and Legacy. Reserve your copy now.
