Petal arrived on July 31, 2026, and it is the most stripped back album Ariana Grande has made. After the maximalist pop of Eternal Sunshine and a detour into film work, she came back with twelve songs that sit closer to the microphone and further from the club.

The title track opens the campaign and set the tone, all breath and restraint, and the video landed the same day. "Hate That I Made You Love Me" is the album's sharpest turn, a breakup song that indicts the singer rather than the subject. "Warning Signs (Interlude)" and "Nowhere, Nobody" lean into the quieter, more synth textured corners of the record, while "Bad Thing (Bunny Hop)" and "Freak" keep enough rhythm in play to remind you who is singing. Released on Babydoll Music through Republic and mastered at Sterling Sound Nashville.

Grande has been steadily narrowing her focus for three albums now, and Petal is where the narrowing pays off. Less spectacle, more voice, and the writing is better for it.

This indie record store exclusive presses the album on translucent pearl white vinyl, housed in a black and white gatefold jacket with a printed die-cut inner sleeve and a 16 page 12 inch booklet of lyrics and photos. A retailer specific color you will not find at the chains.
