Andrea Bocelli - My Christmas

Andrea Bocelli's voice was always going to suit Christmas music, and on 2009's My Christmas he finally gave it the full treatment. Produced by David Foster, the album pairs the Italian tenor with big, cinematic orchestral arrangements and a handful of well-chosen duet partners, and it became one of the most popular holiday records of its year.

The tracklist moves gracefully between sacred and secular. Bocelli is in his element on "Adeste Fidelis," "Cantique de Noël" and "Caro Gesù Bambino," where the operatic training does the heavy lifting, but he also brings real lightness to "White Christmas," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" and "Jingle Bells." Reba McEntire joins him for a crossover "Blue Christmas," and Katherine Jenkins duets on "I Believe," one of the album's emotional high points.

It is the rare holiday album that works equally well as background for a family dinner and as a showcase for a world-class voice, and it remains a perennial seller every December.

This remastered edition spreads the fourteen-track album across two LPs, giving the orchestral arrangements room to breathe over four sides of black vinyl.
