Altered Images - Pinky Blue

Released in May 1982, Altered Images’ second album showcases one of the band’s most beloved singles, “I Could Be Happy,” which climbed to number seven on the charts. The album also features the catchy singles “See Those Eyes” and “Pinky Blue,” alongside a distinctive cover of Neil Diamond’s classic “Song Sung Blue.” Produced once again by Martin Rushent—renowned for his work with The Human League, The Stranglers, and the Buzzcocks—this record continued to solidify the band’s place in the new wave scene. It achieved Silver Disc status, with sales surpassing 60,000 copies.

This meticulously crafted half-speed mastered edition is presented in its original sleeve, pressed on 180-gram heavyweight black vinyl, and includes the traditional obi strip. The vinyl is protected by a poly-lined inner sleeve and accompanied by a detailed four-page insert featuring all lyrics and credits.

Mastered by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering using the original stereo tapes, this edition employs the precision technique of half-speed mastering. This advanced vinyl cutting process enhances groove accuracy and transient detail, delivering an exceptionally detailed stereo image and a natural, vibrant high-frequency response that brings the album’s sound to life with remarkable clarity.
