This is Loose Content with their debut EP — Costumes.

Loose Content are a three-piece indie/alt-rock band hailing from the hinterlands of Byron Bay. Formed during high school by close friends MiLLa (bass and vocals), Sam Sanders (guitars), and Aquila Porter (drums and backing vocals), the band later relocated to their spiritual home of Naarm/Melbourne. Following in the footsteps of iconic acts like The Birthday Party and The Drones, Loose Content have built their musical identity through residency gigs and stories born in shared housing.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Police, Radiohead, Courtney Barnett, and deep-cut Talking Heads, Loose Content’s sound is part pop, part punk—art-driven indie rock that defies easy categorization.

Costumes features seven tracks, including their latest single "Pet Alsatian"—an upbeat, melodic anthem that contrasts its near-naive musical energy with weighty lyrical themes—and "Where the Hollow People Sleep". Across the EP, the band blends literary inspiration with raw musicality, crafting a compelling sonic narrative that lingers long after the last note.

Produced by the renowned Nick DiDia—whose credits include Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, Bruce Springsteen, and Powderfinger—Costumes is a powerful debut from a band on the verge of their breakthrough.

Lyrically, the EP navigates both societal and personal terrain. It tackles systemic inequality, alienation, guilt, obsession, environmental collapse, and the erosion of cultural identity—all underscored by a visceral emotional core.
