Daphni - Jiaolong

Jiaolong, the celebrated debut full-length from Daphni, returns as a 2025 double LP repress in a gatefold edition. First released in 2012, the album marked a major shift for Dan Snaith as he dove deeper into his connection with the dancefloor and embraced a new creative identity outside his work as Caribou.

Issued on Snaith’s own imprint, also named Jiaolong, the album introduced a shape-shifting collection of tracks built around spontaneity, fluidity, and immediacy. Moving away from the detailed compositional approach that defines Caribou, Snaith created Daphni as a space for raw energy and direct impact, aiming for what he described as a more feminine and instinctive musical sensibility.
