The Land of Rape and Honey is the third studio album by the American industrial metal band Ministry, released in 1988. It was a departure from their previous synthpop and EBM records, and is considered a breakthrough album for the band. The album incorporates heavy metal guitars, industrial music influences, electronic beats, and a punk attitude. It also features bassist Paul Barker for the first time, and Al Jourgensen uses his natural accent in distorted vocals instead of the faux British accent of previous albums. Some say the album's sound was influential in the industrial metal genre, and is Jourgensen's favorite Ministry album.
