One of our favourite bands we've ever seen live - and one of our most worn-out records - is The Middle East. Our copy of 'The Recordings of The Middle East' is battered, worn and really-well-loved.
For those that don't know the greatness and story behind the band - this old article and interview from 2019 (the time of their first reunion) is a great jumping off point. The show in 2019 was one of our favourites.
For those that were there, or, like us, cherish battered copies - the memories and music will linger for a long time indeed.
A month ago, a friend asked if we'd consider putting out this record. Only previously available from the band themselves, if you could find the link, or on their second reunion tour of the US last year, supporting Zach Bryan.
Being such fans, we jumped at the opportunity. This has been compiled and pressed by the band at Standard in Canada.
It's a best of but not the best of. It's a beautiful testament to their work and music and to the good times & bad.
We've added our individually-numbered obi strip and limited the copies to 400.
