Originally released in 1992 on Accurate/Distortion and later picked up by Rykodisc, Good is the "hallucinatory revelation" that introduced the world to Morphine. Eschewing the traditional guitar-heavy landscape of the early 90s, the Boston trio—led by the late Mark Sandman—crafted a "dark, sultry, and minimalist" sound they dubbed "Low Rock." Built around Sandman’s "soul-baring" two-string slide bass, Dana Colley’s "otherworldly" baritone sax wails, and Jerome Deupree’s "crisp, jazz-inflected" drumming, Good remains a "cinematic noir" masterpiece.
This limited edition reissue brings the debut "back to wax where it belongs," featuring a fresh remaster that enhances the "rib-rattling" low end and "hushed, smokey" atmosphere of the original sessions. Pressed on striking Forest Green Vinyl, this edition perfectly complements the "moody and organic" aesthetic of the record. From the "pulsating urgency" of the title track to the "slacker-rock" cool of "Have a Lucky Day," this pressing ensures the band's "unflinchingly honest" debut sounds better than ever.
