Originally conceived as a one-off remix, No Protection grew into a full-scale collaboration between English trip hop pioneers Massive Attack and legendary dub producer Mad Professor (Neil Fraser). What began with a single track from Protection soon evolved into a track-by-track reinvention, with Mad Professor reshaping nearly the entire album into a deep, immersive dub experience.

This is no simple remix exercise. Mad Professor strips the songs of much of their original identity, then rebuilds them into something entirely new, pushing Massive Attack’s sound into uncharted territory.
