Released in July 1993, the self-titled debut from Candlebox remains one of the most successful records of the era, moving over 4 million copies and reaching No. 7 on the Billboard 200. While often grouped with the "grunge" movement, Candlebox brought a bluesy, hard-rock technicality to the Seattle sound, fueled by Kevin Martin’s "soul-baring" vocals and Peter Klett’s "soaring, melodic" lead guitar work. The album's massive radio hits, including the timeless power ballad "Far Behind" and the driving "You," made the band a mainstay of Woodstock '94 and defined the sound of the mid-90s.
This premium Music On Vinyl (MOV) reissue marks the first time the complete debut album has been expanded to a double LP set. By spreading the original 11 tracks across four sides of 180g audiophile vinyl, this pressing provides the "girth of sound" and dynamic range that the heavy, reverb-drenched production of the early 90s demands.
