One of the most quietly essential voices in contemporary ambient and electronic music arrives with a new EP that marks a genuine turning point in her already remarkable body of work. Emily A. Sprague, synthesist, composer, and co-founder of beloved indie band Florist, has spent nearly a decade building an expansive solo practice rooted in environmental composition and intuitive sonic architecture. Double Moon, released on RVNG Intl., distills that practice into three tracks of extraordinary depth and delicacy.

The title track traces psychic and tangible landscapes as parallel realms, built from modular intricacy and incantatory repetition, with V Haddad's translucid vocals drifting across Sprague's diaphanous synthesizer spills like light across water. Marked by patched gradients, frosted angles, and warm melodic ripples, each sound revolves around the next, simultaneously appearing and vanishing across a gripping sonic arc. It is music that moves in iridescent subtlety, night's color drawn across the sky.

Middle track "Dusk (How to Fly)" is a subtle and stirring experiment that evokes the day's quiet dissolution, melding gently synthesized threads with a slow acoustic rush and Sprague's own vocal cascade. It is music that asks, with genuine wonder: how do we feel anything at all?

Closing the EP is "Double Moon (Andras Dub)," in which Australian producer Andrew Wilson transforms the original through low, radiant rhythms and glittering percussion, each bar springing and scattering to newness while staying true to Sprague's mesmeric songwriting at its core.
