Liz Phair - Whip-Smart

Whip-Smart is the second album from singer-songwriter Liz Phair, following her critically acclaimed 1993 debut Exile In Guyville. Released in 1994, the album debuted at #27 on the Billboard 200 and eventually achieved gold status. While often overshadowed by its predecessor, Whip-Smart has grown in stature over time and is now recognized as a key work in Phair’s legacy, alongside her other Matador Records releases and the iconic Girly-Sound tapes. The album was ranked sixth in The Village Voice Pazz and Jop Poll and, in 2014, Rolling Stone named it the 18th greatest album of 1994, highlighting it as a high point of mainstream alternative rock.
