Detroit’s Electric Six burst onto the global stage with their debut album Fire in 2003, igniting dancefloors everywhere with their unique blend of rock, funk, and electro-punk. Featuring the hit singles “Danger! High Voltage” — rumored to include backing vocals by Jack White — and the iconic “Gay Bar”, Fire quickly became a cultural phenomenon.

Recorded in 2002–2003 at Michigan’s White Room Studios and Ghetto Recorders, with additional work at Abbey Road and Olympic Studios in London, the album combines taut wah-wah guitars, fuzztone, horns, and Dick Valentine’s unforgettable vocals. Danger! High Voltage earned critical acclaim, with Pitchfork noting its explosive, genre-bending energy. Gay Bar dominated the UK charts, its video winning Video of the Year from both Q and Kerrang!, while Dance Commander was immortalized by acclaimed director Ruben Fleischer.

To celebrate the album’s 21st anniversary, a fully remastered edition is now available on vinyl. Fire remains a landmark release — energetic, irreverent, and impossibly fun — solidifying Electric Six’s place in early-2000s rock history.
