Mute is proud to announce the launch of a new series of Cabaret Voltaire releases, beginning with the previously unreleased Chance Versus Causality.
Available on limited edition transparent green vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, CD in eco-pack, and digital formats, this release features the original soundtrack to a 1979 16mm film for two projectors by Babeth Mondini.
These recordings include all three original Cabaret Voltaire members—Richard H. Kirk, Stephen Mallinder, and Chris Watson.
Named after the Zürich nightclub that served as a hub for the early Dada movement, Cabaret Voltaire was one of the most innovative and influential electronic groups of their era. Their early work combined experimental DIY electronics, tape manipulation, and Dada-inspired performance art, helping to pioneer the industrial music movement of the 1970s.
